Obituary

New Bedford - Sharon DeMedeiros, 69, passed away on September 14, 2026.

Born on November 15, 1956 to the late Loretta Miller, Sharon grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts and spent most of her adult life in neighboring New Bedford.

From a young age, Sharon developed a deep passion for music. Gifted with an amazing voice, she would sing anytime the occasion called for it. She was a dedicated member of multiple music and ukulele circles. Including a local group called "The Misfits" who would perform at local events, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. For a time, she also shared her voice as a member of her local church choir.

Beyond her music, Sharon was a woman of vast creativity and an avid hobby collector. She possessed a remarkable talent for decorative art, specializing in realism, stunning murals, and custom furniture painting. Sharon will be long remembered as a passionate soul with eccentric taste and a beautifully unique flare.

Sharon’s greatest joy, however, came from the people she loved. She is survived by her three children; Matthew Rudnik, Michael DeMedeiros, and Kathleen DeMedeiros and her wife Sam Defrias; as well as her two grandchildren Addison and Thatcher Rudnik, her siblings Jeanine Deveau and Stephen Miller, and stepdaughter Crystal DeMedeiros. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Sharon found great purpose and joy in helping care for her grand-niece and grand-nephew, Ethan and Lillian, whom she shared a special bond.

Sharon was deeply loved and will be missed by so many.
