NEW BEDFORD-Sheila I. Frakes, 70, passed away on January 16, 2025.

Sheila was born in New Bedford and was the daughter of the late Theodore Frakes and Irene (Freitas) Frakes.

Sheila was a die hard music fan and loved Michael Jackson and listening to the Beatles. Some of her fondest memories were bonding over music with her family. Sheila cherished the moments she spent with her family. She was a kind and devoted mother and grandmother. Who enjoyed taking her family out to eat and reminiscing about the old days with her siblings. Shiela was also a fan of wrestling and Saturday morning cartoons. Sheila will best be remembered laughing over a coffee or soda and going out to breakfast with her loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Shawn Frakes and Michael Frakes of New Bedford; grandchildren, Elize Alvarez-Frakes and Shawn A. Frakes, Jr. of New Bedford.

She was the sister of the late Theodore Frakes, Jr, Glen, Gerald and Kenneth Frakes.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 8-9:30am in the Donaghy New-Day Funeral Home, 465 County St., New Bedford.

Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 230 Bonney St., New Bedford.

Burial will follow in the Rural Cemetery, New Bedford.
