Suzanna "Suzie" Maria Silva, 53, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on August 19, 2025 after a brief illness.

Suzie was born to the late Artur and Rosa Silva in New Bedford and lived there her whole life. She graduated from New Bedford High School and obtained an associate's degree in business. She loved swimming, listening to music, and long drives on the country side. As a child, she enjoyed going to the playground and swing on the swing set for as long as possible. Suzie was a very kind and generous person. One of her favorite prayers she loved to quote was from Saint Francis of Assisi:

"Lord make me an instrument of thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness light; and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; stand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, and it is in pardoning that we are pardoned and it is in dying, that we are born to eternal life".

Suzie is survived by her daughter, Marisa Tavares, her three grandchildren, Dayne, Grayson, and Liliana, her siblings, Grace and Paul, and her nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Joshua, Christopher, Paul Jr., and Maria.

In honoring Suzie's wishes, she was cremated and services were private.
