Obituary

Cumberland – Suzanne (Sue) Roy, 80, of Cumberland, RI, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026.

She was born in Central Falls, RI, to the late Victor and Cecile (Pruneau) LaFlamme.

Sue found joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments. She loved word searches and jigsaw puzzles, often immersing herself in them for hours with quiet determination and contentment. Those puzzles were her peaceful escape, a place where she could settle in, focus, and enjoy the calm.

She loved music and wouldn’t hesitate to dance it up if she got the chance. Sue also had a heart of gold and was always ready to help whoever needed her.

She also loved to walk—everywhere. Whether she was heading to ‘downtown’ or just a walk around town, Sue turned every walk into an opportunity to connect. She had a natural gift for conversation and could talk to anyone she met. Her ability to strike up a conversation made her unforgettable and she loved socializing with her family and strangers alike.

She is survived by her son Keith and his wife Jodie; granddaughters Ashley, Tyla, and Morgan; great‑grandson Hunter; and her siblings Gilbert, Jacqueline, Norman, Diane, Lorraine, Michael, Anita, Edgar, and Howard. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Suzanne was predeceased by her brother Robert.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Foley Cook New Day Funeral Home, 126 S. Main St., Attleboro.
