Hernando, FL- Tracy Ann DaCosta, 53, formerly of New Bedford passed away at her daughters home Thursday, August 4th, 2022 surrounded by family, after a brief battle with cancer.

&Born and raised in New Bedford, daughter of Raymond DaCosta of Florida and Nancy (Pinto) Houghton and her late husband Wayne of West Wareham. She was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School. Tracy enjoyed fishing and taking boat rides with her Fiancé. She enjoyed yearly trips to Disney with family and when she was home she loved to cook and spend quality time with her grandchildren. Tracy worked for the Correctional Services in Florida.

She is survived by her fiancé, William Hassett; her mother, Nancy of West Wareham; her father Raymond and his wife Donna of Florida; two daughters, Nicole Flechsig and her husband Christopher of North Dartmouth and Courtney Barao of New Bedford; four Grandchildren, Christopher, Jacob, Andrew, and Ariah; two brothers, Derek DaCosta and his wife Melissa and Kurt Houghton and his wife Jennifer all of Fairhaven, an uncle, Michael Pinto and his wife Maggie of Freetown and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Tracy was the mother to her late son Brandon Barao and the granddaughter to the late Aurileo and Rita Pinto.
