Gallant
February 24, 2025
William Gallant passed away on February 24, 2025. Born in Fall River, he was the son of Leo and Helen (Rioux) Gallant. In June 1954 he joined the US Marine corps during the Korean war. When he was discharged in June of 1956 he got engaged to Helen Raposa and was married on Aug.18 1956. Sadly, Helen's father had died a month before their wedding. Bill and Helen had 5 children, their daughter, Linda and her husband Robert D'Agostino from Attleboro and son David and his wife Amy Gallant of Attleboro,10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Sadly, William is predeceased by his 3 sons, William Gallant Jr, John Gallant and Michael Gallant
Bill was a jeweler and started his career at Balfour's in 1975, he joined Roman Co of St Louis and became VP and co-owner of Manufacturing. He also became an owner and VP of Annex Glass, a costume jewelry company. During his lifelong career he was also VP of several other companies. He also was involved in making a super bowl ring for a player on the Baltimore Colts. Bill was fortunate to have had an exciting career. Both he and his wife extensively traveled the whole country in their RV and also bought a cottage on the ocean in Prince Edward Island Canada where they loved to spend their summers with family. During his time spent there he discovered his original ancestor was one of the first settlers on the Island in 1720, and that the Gallant family is the second largest family on the Island.
William will be sadly missed by his loving family.
Services will be a small family gathering with Military honors at St John's Cemetery, Attleboro, MA.
