NEW BEDFORD-It is with a heavy heart that I announce the unexpected passing of my son William (Billy) Knowles on 8/8/2023.

Billy was a beautiful person inside and out. He had and infectious laugh and beaming smile.&He loved nature and being outdoors.An animal lover of all, his knowledge of them was incredible.Billy's true love was the ocean, a place where he often told me he had peace. With that being said, William was employed as a commercial fisherman in New Bedford.

My son was the proud father of Gabriella and the longtime companion of Tiffany Silva.He was the light of their lives.Billy's life was taken away from his family to soon.The Shackles of substance abuse and mental illness had bound him for years.He is now at peace, in Heaven casting a ray of light, watching over his family.

He will be forever missed and always loved by all who knew him. Billy leaves behind his daughter Gabby, longtime companion Tiffany Silva, his brother David G Fernandes, his mother Christine Knowles, father David J Fernandes and Stepdad Raymond J. Marques Sr.Not to mention Grandmothers Adrienne Knowles, and Agnes Fernandes, and countless aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
