Barbara J. Holden

Barbara J. Holden, 83, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in St. Luke’s Hospital with her family by her side.  She was the wife to the late Richard E. Holden.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter to the late George Riendeau and the late Theresa (Barbero).  Barbara was a devout Catholic and was a Communicant of Holy Name Church in New Bedford until the Pandemic and her declining health prevented her from attending.  She focused on raising her family and keeping a warm and welcoming home for family and friends.  She loved to cook for everyone that came over to the house over the years.  She was there always there to help if she could, even if it was just a listening ear,  Barbra loved fashion and always tried to keep up with trends.  Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Barbara leaves behind her daughter, Polly Hutchinson and her husband Paul of New Bedford.  Her grandchildren; Laura Daniel of New Bedford and Timothy Daniel and his wife Jess of Virginia.  She is the proud great grand mother to Aubriey Daniel, Penelope Daniel and Thomas DeFranco.  Barbara was mother to the late Peter Holden.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass for Barbara on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church 74 Spring Street Fairhaven, MA 02719.
