Obituary

WALTHAM-Christopher Plocharczyk, 49, of Waltham passed away unexpectedly at home Sunday, September 4, 2022.  Born in Boston he was the son of the late Chester Plocharczyk and Lillian L. (Perrier) Plocharczyk of New Bedford.  Christopher grew up in Watertown where he lived most of his life, settling in Waltham 4 years ago.

Chris was a graduate of Watertown High School where he played on the hockey team and later attended Bentley College.  He most recently was the Deli Manager at BJ’s Wholesale.  Chris was an avid Boston sports fan. He loved the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics and Patriots. When he was young he would memorize the stats of all the Red Sox players. He was a joy to be with at a baseball game. As an adult, He took pride in taking his nephew Mason to several Celtics games. He loved football season and playing fantasy football and football pools with Tara and his brothers. He could out talk anyone about sports.

Chris always had a great smile and an infectious laugh. He loved teasing and joking with his family and friends, creating silly nicknames for his family. His nephew, Michael, was dubbed Guiseppi when he was just a toddler. He loved holiday gatherings and his Mom’s great cooking. He had a huge presence in our family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving mother, Lillian;  his brothers, Bruce and his fiancee Patty Peterson of Waltham and David of Nashua, NH;  his sister, Cheryl Tolman-Duff of New Bedford;  his companion, Tara Woodbury;  two nieces, Amy and Kaitlyn Plocharczyk;  a nephew, Michael Plocharczyk;  two great nephews, Mason Tolman and Austin Bohls;  and several cousins. Christopher was the uncle of the late James and Ryan Tolman.
