Leonardo C. Viveiros

NEW BEDFORD-Leonardo C. Viveiros, 63, of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly
at home Friday, January 13, 2023. He was the loving husband of Maria C. (Pimental)
Viveiros.

Born in Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal, son of the late Leonardo Viveiros Raposo and
Maria Eduarda (Gomes) Raposo, he came to New Bedford in 1978. Leonardo was a
carpenter and had worked for various area construction companies as well as a stone
mason and truck driver. He enjoyed meeting his friends at the Market Basket Bakery
and especially spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Maria; children, Leonard Allen of MO, Daniel Allen of
Bristol, RI and Noah J. Viveiros of New Bedford as well as step children, Catia Gilbert
and her husband Devin and Renato Rego all of New Bedford; three grandchildren,
Daniel Adam Allen, Tessa Marie Allen and Daniel Braga-Gilbert; brothers, Antonio,
Anibel, Ilda and Maria Viveiros and several nieces and nephews. Leonardo was the
brother of the late Luis, Arthur and Rui Viveiros.

Calling hours are Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 4-7pm in the Donaghy New Day
Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County St., New Bedford. Cremation will follow. For
